Professional History-
(2013-Present)-
Currently, I am employed by Manpower. This is an international employment agency. This means that the work I perform is often not repetitious. Manpower have found work for me at a total of four workplaces. Two of the workplaces were marinas, one was at the Southampton Boat Show and the final was in a hotel. All of these jobs involved me being 'on the front line', having to deal with customers directly.
Often this was a pleasure, however tact had to be shown when more... challenging customers presented themselves. I treat all customers to the same standard of respect and professionalism that I would expect had it been me who was being served.
All of the managers who oversaw me during my time with them seemed thrilled with the work that I was performing and even said that they were sad to see me go. One was even kind enough to write a complementary reference for me. I feel that this shows my ability to work hard and professionally in a number of different workplaces.
(2011-2012)-
While I was still at school, I completed two sets of work experience. Both of these were in the field of aviation, one of my passions.
The first was at an engineering plant in Portsmouth that repaired and manufactured various parts to be used in aircraft engines. Although it was interesting seeing how tiny pieces of metal stood between safety and sheer fear, I was also a little bored of the monotony of the tasks that were presented to me. I feel that this was a valuable experience though. It showed me that engineering was not for me. Not only that, I also learned a little more about the practicality of a working life. The late nights, early rises and obvious lack of social life!
